My awesome weekend in Radelaide!Well, here goes nothing, the journal entry about my awesome weekend in RADELAIDE!
Friday: Met up with the wonderful Daisy and Erin to begin the long drive to Adelaide in the morning. What followed was actually much better than I thought it would be. It really didn't feel like we'd been driving for 9 hours. Just sat in our hostel room when we got there making people on TS have heart attacks, was good fun.
Saturday: Got up extra early to make sure that A) we could actually get Supanova tickets and B) we weren't waiting forever to get in. Totally worth it. Got into the con and just waited at the Hanabee booth for a good 2 hours for signings, also fun. Made Chris laugh when Gangnam ...
Made Chris laugh when Gangnam Style was playing through the con and did the crazy leg part of the dance, so that was awesome. Also, almost making Daisy faint by getting Kerry to give her a hug was excellent too. Met Wade in the line and got a copy of his book which he then signed, so hell yeah to that!
everyone who hasn't read that book should go buy a copy and do that now, it's amazing Got my RT Comics Year 3 signed by the guys, so I'm now up to 8 signatures. Hoping to get them all one day (a man can dream). This was then followed by walking around the con for a bit, as many purchases as us poor kids could afford, and getting my Adventure Time graphic novel signed by John DiMaggio (who I made laugh, so I'll take it). We then headed back to our hostel room, had a few drinks, were joined by Wade and Trent, then made our way to meet up with Sean to go out for drinks. Of course, we knew Caiti was going to join us, but we didn't know Chris would be there as well. Was quite funny to see everyone try and get down his end of the table, unfortunately I didn't get anywhere near him, damn people outsmarting drunk me. After that we went to Sean's room to watch some Futurama before we headed back to our hostel room to sleep before the drive home.
Sunday: Drove home. We finally stopped for ice cream. Dropped off Erin and Daisy on opposite sides of my house. Slept
And now, to continue the new tradition: SHOUTOUTS!
- Daisy and Erin for keeping me company on the drive and not completely driving me insane.
- The Giant Koala that Erin somehow missed on the way there and would not shut up about until we drove past it on the way back.
- The endless roadwork between Melbourne and Adelaide.
- Reel Big Fish for having some damn good music to keep me going throughout the trip.
- Wade for selling me a copy of his amazing book, AND signing it. Seriously guys, read it if you haven't already
- Trent for taking the photo of me with the RT guys (in which I look like the creepiest man alive).
- The RT guys for coming down and being amazing.
- Chris for laughing at my Gangnam Style, allowing me to hug him as we left Supanova AND coming out drinking with us.
- Kathleen for loving my Grifball t-shirt and even looking for my name on the back
I'm still hoping for a friend request - Sean for allowing Daisy, Erin and myself to come to his posh hotel room and watch Futurama on his laptop.
- The city of Adelaide for making me and Erin walk around for almost an hour looking for a bottle shop.
- Caiti for doing everything she does for the community, and still being able to come out of the booth and chat to all of us for a few minutes. AND NOW SHE KNOWS WHO I AM!
- Hanabee for doing everything they do, and still talking to us as we were waiting in line.
- Trent's Grifball plushie, which it unfortunately seems will be the closest I will get to one now.
- John DiMaggio for signing my Adventure Time graphic novel and being just an awesome dude.
- Madman for selling the Adventure Time Season 1 DVD, AND giving me a free poster with it.
- Erin's laptop for having almost every one hit wonder ever for us to sing along to on the ride home.
- My car (WHICH DOES NOT HAVE A NAME!) for not only surviving the trip, but not using as much petrol as I thought it would.
- Anyone/anythin
g else that I missed.
I love you all, now to wait for the Sydney ARTST!
