RThanXI didn't think it would happen, but I survived RTX. We have attended events for eight years now so I thought I had an idea of the amount of work and planning that went into running an event and I was wrong by probably a tenfold. I had a lot of help here and wanted to thank the people involved. Thanks to Faith and Alan for bringing all our great exhibitors and sponsors to the show. The hall would have been very empty without you guys. Thanks to Adam for wrangling our crazy tech issues and requirements and making the technology look easy. Thanks to Kara for taking care of all our guests and running around like crazy. Thanks to Yvonne and Kathleen for manning the RT store and being flexible enough to rearrange the layout of the store to serve more attendees. Thanks to Jack for laying out the Achievement Hunter lounge and making sure it was a fun destination. Thanks to Chris for designing the Immersion Museum and filling it with tons of cool hands on stuff for attendees. Thanks to Brandon for not only shooting the concert but also getting up super early Sunday to wrangle the live action shoot. Thanks to Ben for setting up our live stream page and taking care of our social media needs throughout the weekend. I swear I saw you instagramming while sleeping. Thanks to Brian for working several sleepless nights on graphics and print elements for the show. Thanks to ALL the guardians, and all the volunteers we had working in the RT store.
Additional thanks to every exhibitor, sponsor and guest who believed enough in us to come out and join us in our first foray into the Austin Convention Center. Your support made this happen and we won't forget.
Special thanks to Twitch.tv for the live streaming sponsorship. I had my doubts about streaming the event but I was wrong. I can't imagine having a cool event like this and not sharing it with the world. Alienware was the official PC sponsor of the show and we used their fine machines to play games, stream video to the internet, Skype with Mr. Elijah Wood and chat with stream attendees. Plantronics Gamecom fulfilled all our headset needs. In addition to loaning us headsets, they also stocked us up with plenty of units to give away as prizes and I know every person who won one was ecstatic about it. Thanks to Wizards of the Coast who gave us thousands of Magic the Gathering decks to GIVE AWAY TO OUR ATTENDEES. That is mind blowing to me. I gotta give thanks to Razer who gave us plenty of Onza Xbox controllers to give away as prizes. They event went as far as to make a video about RTX!
Special guests came from all over to join us. There are WAY too many to list here, so look at our guest page.
I want to call out one guardian in particular. Chris, you were awesome. The convention center says they want to have 100 of you to hire to help them with future events. You consistently looked for things to do and helped seek out issues you could assist with. It did not go un-noticed.
My last special thanks is for Barbara "Flerp Flerps" Dunkelman. Barbara, you were there as early as me and as late as me every day. Without you running the front of the house I couldn't have run the back of the house. I think we were both delirious and exhausted by Sunday night but I don't think I could have survived without you there to help tackle the work. You helped make the event a success and I appreciate it.
I had so much help I'm positive I've forgotten somebody. I'm truly sorry, there were so many moving parts helping to pull this off and they were all super important.
Overall I'm super happy with RTX. Things weren't 100% flawless and we're going to work hard to make next year even better. We've identified what needs to happen and we have time to execute it. Thanks for your support everyone. You make the hard work all worth it.

I had an amazing time working with you, Gus! The sheer amount of work you put in each and every day was beyond superhuman and I'm so happy to have gotten the opportunity to help you out however I could :)
Gus, I had a fantastic time being a Guardian. Looking forward to helping next year. Thanks for an amazing event and all the work you and Barbara and everyone else have put into it.
There were definitely some things that needed to be worked out, but I was amazing at the improvement from day 1 to day 2. It was a great time, and I can't wait to go back next year! Still need to get a few more signatures on my 360 lol.
Congratulations on a fantastic event, and thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put everything together. Now, get back to being cursed at by Michael through Minecraft. You deserve it.
You guys seriously did a great job. Many props to everyone who worked so hard to make this thing happen. Some of the most fun I've ever had in one weekend.
Thanks for having us at RTX! I'm glad that there is an awesome event to go to in Texas. Everyone was so cool and the people working the event were very helpful.
@gus, are you considering making a survey to allow attendees help you identify positive/negative things about the event from our perspective?
Thank you Gus for all the hard work you put into this weekend. I had some doubts in thinking a convention planned by a couple of drunken gamers would work, but my god this weekend was incredible!
As an attendee, I can tell you that your hard work paid off. It was the first convention for me and my wife and both of us had a blast despite my wife not being a gamer. That says a lot.
If I'm there next year, I know that it's going to be just as amazing if not ever more amazing-er.
Also, @sirNARVY was always helpful. I would throw in calling him an "ass" or something in jest, but seriously, the guy rocks. Everyone needs to stop by his page and thank him for doing an awesome job (this is the "Chris" that Gus mentioned, I'm sure).
Saw it live, it was amazing. The best part was Joel getting hammered on the podcast, I think he did his best to fill in for Gavin's stupidity.... I love you guys.
man wish i could've been there but no money :( but thanks to RT for throwing an Awesome event that every RT fan wish they can go and hopefully one day will :)
Congratulations on all of your hard work on the fantastic event. I caught a reasonable amount of it on livestream and it looked amazing! It sounds like you'll be having a noteworthy event for years to come and I hope that I can come to one as soon as possible!
Let me thank you guys for streaming it! It was a huge bummer not to be able to go, but watching the livestreams made up for it--for once I didn't have to scour the internets looking for poorly-recorded videos of panels, I could just watch it directly. And Twitch.tv was really great about support. I'm personally very impressed by the whole thing!
Like I said on Saturday night when things were both quiet and rushed at the same time, I had fun. You guys did a great job putting this together, and there's not a doubt in my mind that you're going to learn from this year's mistakes and somehow make next year's event uncountably better.

It would be great to contribute to RTX 2013!
I look forward to next year! To the moon we go!!!
