DiMono.net banner contestThis is a contest for 500 mods
I've spent a bit of time recently picking out my design scheme for dimono.net, which will be my professional website development site. I now have a general layout and I believe I've settled on my colour scheme. What I don't have is a site banner. This is where you, the roosterteeth.com faithful, come in to play. This contest is simple: design a banner for my website, and the winner gets 500 mods and their image used on my site, with credit given. I may even look to you when I have a need for an image for a website, in which case I will pay you for your time on those images, so it's really a contest for 500 mods and a potential for future contract work.
Here are the criteria:
1) The site is DiMono.net (capitalization is important). This must appear quite legibly in the banner image. 2) My tagline is Taking the suck out of the internet. If you can fit this in to the banner, hooray. 3) The banner must be exactly 769px wide and no more than 100px high. Shorter is fine, taller is not, but the width must always be 769px. 4) All entries must be made in the form of a comment on this journal. You may enter as many times as you like, but please only one entry per comment. 5) Entries will be judged not by how cool they look on their own or by how much work you put in to them, but by how good they look on the site. It is entirely possible for a very simple entry to win out over a complex entry if the simple one works better with the site template. I strongly encourage you to enter some complex/really cool headers as well if you enter a simple one so that I may get a good feel for the work you are capable of. 6) Here is a partial screenshot of the top of the site template:
The menu on the left is 120px wide, then there is 2px of space, then 647px of site content on the right. There is a 2px gap between the banner and the site contents. Feel free to save the screenshot image to aid in the development of your entry. 7) There is currently no official logo for the site, if you can come up with one and include it in your entry that's great. 8) Everything you enter for this contest must be 100% original by you; no borrowing images from the internet, even if they're modified, and anyone who submits an entry that is a blatant derivitive of someone else's entry will have that entry disqualified and be blocked from commenting on me until the conclusion of the contest. You will not steal someone else's creative work to enter this contest. Edit: There are some image stockpile sites who allow you to use their images in site banners etc. There is a huge difference between a personal site and a commercial site, so it all depends on how you are allowed to use their images. If you decide to include an image from such a source in your banner you would have to include a link to the source and proof that it's okay to use their images in such a way. 9) There is no preset deadline for entries as I want to allow plenty of time for entries to be submitted. A deadline will be posted at the top of this journal once I feel it is reasonable to assign one, so check back often. 10) Legal stuff since I plan to use the winning entry commercially: By submitting an entry to this contest you warrant that it is your own original work and you grant me a non-exclusive right to transmit and/or reproduce and/or display your entry freely and without compensation or responsibility to you. You grant me the right to modify your image as I see fit. Any image of yours that I use in this or any other way will be credited as your original work. Neither I nor any website I own, control or operate will be held responsible in any way for any loss of time, space, food, revenue, or anything else that is incurred as a result of your submitting an image to this contest.
NOTE: DIMONO.NET IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH MY ACCOUNT HERE, SO USING THE DIMONO FROWNY IS NOT ADVISED
The upshot: Enter this contest and create a banner exactly 769px wide and no more than 100 px tall for my website, and the one that best suits the website will earn its creator 500 mod points and a chance at contract image creation for which the artist will be paid. Edit: It's only fair to tell you that due to the site layout I will not be using any banners with rounded corners.
Since they've been requested, here are the colours I am using on the site: Outside background: #E8F0FF Main background: #1E90FF Text: #C7E3FF Headings: #460F7F
May the best graphic artist win.
Edit: h2freak has created this page where you may test how your banner looks with the rest of the page. Go mod him somewhere for being cool.

Are those the only major colors we will be seeing on the website? (mostly blue, little green)
Also, is there anything you can tell us that will be on the website? So we can incorportate that into the image.
I'll get started soon.
Hope you like it..
I'm gonna revise it as I get a new idea..
It's 769x100, as you asked.
Im'a work on entry #2 when I get home from school..
When I'm not tired, and when I'm calm.
But thanks.
Is it ok if I still use that?
Gonna have to clear it with DiMono.. Whatever he says goes..
I took the colour green from those green circles on what appears to be the navi-bar and made a gradient using the blue. Also, I left room for a logo on the left.

I figure I would go for a more easy look the first time around, that's why I chose that font. I figured it would go best with the website layout you have. Next time I'll go with something fancy.
Can we say, "Taking the suck out of the internt since 2006,"?
Do you want a certain format? (.gif, .jpeg, .bmb, ect.)
Either message me, comment in my profile, of put it in the Journal.
96px x 769px
