Post RTX - Day 1RTX was such a whirlwind of work and fun, couple that with a 22 hour drive home and hosting a lan party the next weekend calls for quite some time to recover... Hence the late journal.
Anyways, RTX was amazing. My weekend started early when I got down on on Thursday after staying for a few days with my girlfriend Nikki and was greeted at the convention center by some familiar faces and some friendly new ones. I first got my guardian badge from Barbara which was great to be greeted by a familiar face. I hadn't been very active on the site until now and she was one of the few I knew from last year's RTX and RVBTO. As soon as I got it i gravitated to the registration booth where the other guardians were congregating and I felt instantly at home and accepted among the others, it was more than I could have ever hoped for. The fabulous SailorTweek who I hadn't previously met was extremely personable and got me talking to the group where I met Count3D, SirNARVY, DarkBowler, Tuuli, my fellow AH Lounge team leader LordOwen, and so many others. :)
Thursday night I went to SideQuest which was a total blast. I had never been to a SideQuest event before and was amazed by what a great job Count3D, GB330033, and the other SideQuest staffers did getting it all together. I got some food and bowled and then got a few beers with David, LordOwen, and DarkBowler and sang karaoke all night long. I had a great fucking night.
