Half a year.6 months ago, I flew from Ottawa, Ontario to Austin, Texas to start working for Rooster Teeth, something I had only dreamed of for 7 years.
I have been here now for.. half. a. year. WAT
On one hand, Austin is really starting to feel like home, and I've become comfortable here. I love everyone I work with, I feel like I'm settling more and more into my position, roles are becoming more defined, and I feel like I belong. But, on the other hand, HALF A YEAR?! I could have sworn it's been 2-3 months, maybe.
This next half is going to be nuts. RTX, attending 4 conventions over the course of 2 months, and who knows what else.
What is the biggest thing that's happened to you in the last 6 months?

At Home: My kids are growing up, my wife is enjoying here new job (just like you Barb), I think I'm going through sometype of depression (don't know enough about that stuff to know what kind) and apparently I have lost all interest I had. Oh and I think I alienated the last person I hanged out with so all and all I pretty much F***ed my life and can't cry about it since I have 2 kids I have to take care of since they look up at me, but he I'm sure some kid had terminal cancer somewhere and will die tonight cheers ;)
Na, it'd have to be RTOZ, closely followed by the knowledge that I will be going to RTX.
All the best and keep up the great work.

My last six months were mostly just school but a number of important things have happened to me since May:
- I became the President of a large national disability advocacy group,
- I've started networking with rather important people in the disability community and government
- Found out I will be getting my first academic article published soon.
I'm excited to continue accomplishing goals in the next six months, though. I have some big plans for weight loss and more academic writing.
Glad you're enjoying your time in Austin, Barbara. You make the podcasts even better. See you at RTX!
PLEASE ?
