PerspectiveI've been down recently due to the end of my running career. It has seemed so surreal, but at times I think I've been a little too depressed about it. It was a great chapter of my life, and I wouldn't trade it for the world, but all good things do have to come to an end.
I'm really getting a lesson in perspective this week. It's hit kinda hard, but I think God is trying to kick me in the butt and say, "Get over it! Way worse things can happen." And I've seen way worse things...I feel so helpless and like a total jerk for ever complaining about never racing again. Last week a former teammate's brother passed away in a car accident. This morning, a close friend's father committed suicide.
I really have been smacked in the face.
