How we doin'?As you may have noticed, the web team made some updates to our look and feel. I usually wait a week or so after the initial reaction to get a feel for what everyone thinks. So. What do you think? Any outstanding issues with the modified design?

I think the biggest issue was the lack of being able to clear your feed, which was promptly corrected. I thank the folks at Roosterteeth for hearing fan outcry and responding to it. Thank you for being reasonable when some other folks weren't.

Click View Unread Notifications to make the Xs reappear. Then you can clear the whole list at once if you so choose.

I dislike this burnie it just doesnt feel right. Also it feels cluttered with post alerts I rather have the old alerts system.

Also, there should be a way to access your groups from the homepage. Right now you have to navigate to your profile page.

I can see why this fell by the wayside, I doubt many people use the groups as much as we do.

But yeah, I'd appreciate the navigation to that area being better.

Yeah, I've gotten quite used to using the search bar to shortcut to my groups, but... now that's stuck to the top of the page and can't be asked to follow me down, it reduces the convenience a notch.
Having them on the home page wouldn't be of much use to me, but it would occasion...

I miss the listing of forum threads on my home page. Also the status faux journal thing is weird, but it actually might increase my "journal" posting rate.

I just wish that we'd been beta testing some of this stuff before it's release. Some of the new stuff is radically different than what was in the new site profile preview.

The only problem I've had with the new update is false notifications. For example, I sometimes get ones for comment replies, but in fact they are replies to other people's comments, perhaps the one right below mine. Also I sometimes get "1" new notification, but when I go to click on it it goes away and says "You have no unread notifications."

Also I don't think the whole page needs to refresh after you clear your notifications.

Hey Burnie, one problem I have seen so far, on the news feed if you try to scroll down to the bottom to see the info bar, it keeps scrolling away from you when the older posts pop up, you should make it so you have to click a down arrow to see the old posts.

I'm really liking it. It's a bit cleaner and unifies the three sites quite nicely. I was a little unsure of it when I saw it on the RTX page at first, but having it there did help me to get used to it when it came to the main RT page and Achievement Hunter, as well as how notifications were going to work. The one thing I do miss is seeing the RT (or AH) blog feed in what is now my homepage, but that's a really minor thing in the scope of everything.

Over all I think its fine.

One minor quibble I have though: When you go to your home page and you see all the posts that your friends have made I miss having that little invisible "X" that would pop up when you mouse over it giving you the option to remove the post from your feed. Its not a big thing, but I like being able to clean the slate after I've read the post.

I like the look. I do miss the ability to clear viewed items off my watch list on my page and not just in the drop down. Other than that it is all cool.

I also noticed the site doesn't support kanji and kana. I think it could be greatly beneficial if someone wants to express themselves in another way. Or what if they don't use a romanic language?

There's not really anything wrong except for the spam if you are really really active in the forums and such.

There is a section for Watching and Everyone, what we need is a Friends. We shouldn't have to have those we are watching mixed in with our friends post IMO.

The only thing I have run into is when someone post mutiple things in a short time, you only see the newest one unless you select "see more from...." and usually some are things I've already read.

From what I've seen, more people were upset with how it was released than with what was released. People tested one profile, and then got another without any word that it had been replaced mid-testing. They (rightly) felt deceived. And since it wasn't fully functional at launch due to updated code not being forced to reload in the browser, many people thought it was literally broken. Now that that's worn off, though, and the couple big problems (mods in the alert box, not being able to clear user alerts) have been fixed, I've seen a generally positive reaction.

Personally, I like it, but there are a few specific things that I think should be tweaked/updated/fixed. I've opened support tickets with them, so Ben is aware of them and I shan't repeat them here. Once I knew how to do things it didn't take very long at all to get used to the new profile, and it makes my site use easier on the whole. Apparently it's totally broken for some mobile devices though; I don't use one, so that doesn't affect me.

The private messaging section. I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this problem. But we used to be able to delete whole messages if we've had a conversation with someone (eg. Over 100 messages). With the new format, it gets a bit much having to delete one message at a time. Whereas, we used to be able to just delete the whole conversation all in one button.

Am I the only person experiencing this? Can this please be remedied Burnie?

i haven't tinkered with it enough, but I found the news feed/bar scrolling down with you was kinda useful. i'd use it sometimes, but now its only the super bar that scrolls down.

wasn't there some setting that (de)activate the media bar scrolling?

I have liked using this since it was in beta, and since the entire site changed it made it much more streamlined so I think that it is a good setup for the site. Keep up the good work and make sure Gus doesn't break it to keep his job.

Only thing I don't really like is when clicking on "Achievement Hunter has news" it opens up a new tab. This kind of messes up my notifications. It is just a minor issue because I know I am being really lazy for not wanting to press the X on one of the tabs, but for convenience sake it would be nice to only have one tab unless I purposely open two. Besides that the new site is awesome and I really like it.

I love it! My only complaint pre-existed the new site design, and is likely just some technical database error rather than anything else. The design itself is gorgeous.

It's definitely weird. I had messaged one of the site admins, who pointed me to Ben, who hadn't responded to my message yet. But a Twitter problem I've been having for several weeks just disappeared today, so I'm happy.
