Part-time helpIs it really too much to ask that the part time person at my office actually show up at a set time rather than 10-ish and do work while here instead of do five minutes of work then play on her phone or Facebook for twenty minutes, rinse and repeat?
ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE'S OVER SIXTY YEARS OLD?!?!?!?!
CountdownIn exactly 2 weeks I will be hitting the road and driving down to Austin for RTX and the best vacation ever surrounded by people I met as strangers last year but who have all become dear friends. I will once more be surrounded by fellow nerds...how exciting!!!
I can hardly contain myself.
Also, had a rather brilliant idea this morning....will take considerable work but let's see if I can pull it off for RTX.
Because I don't neglect my blogs enough...I started a new one, all about my traveling that may or may not become a 2-3 times a year thing. We'll see how the money works out... in the meantime here's the first installment of my Vegas vacation!
And yes, I am a Doctor Who geek x 10000000000000000000
Finally homeAfter three full days in Las Vegas I am home with my boys again trying not to pass out since I've only had 3 hours of sleep thanks to Nine Fine Irishmen (it's the name of a pub I feel in love with, I wish I were 1/9th that lucky...) and I can't just sleep the day away since I have to go back to work tomorrow.
My best quote from my vacation?
"I don't want to go back to a world where I can't have a strawberry margarita in the middle of the day."
I baked today...A large salted caramel cream cheese brownie and a 9" four layer dark chocolate orange cake. As usual I had a few bumps in the road and desperately wished I had my own little shop to work in as lack of space and two puppies under foot tends to make the baking more stressful than necessary. On the up side the brownie cake is ready to ship to my friend for his birthday and the cake is about 80% complete for me to take with me to Vegas this weekend for my brother-in-law's birthday party.
Yep. Going to Vegas for the first time. Very excited.
Well, that's all for now. Picture of the cake later most likely when it's all pretty and finished. Now I think it's time for me and the boys to dog pile on the bed and sleep.
