Half Way ThroughAs I write this, I am half way through my end of year final exams. These ones are going so much easier than the last semester it almost pisses me off I’m repeating the year because of a project I simply don’t have time to redo. So next year I’ll be a college student still instead of a member of the job-seeking unemployed population of post-grads. At least nexy year I’ll have a lot more time to focus on the project and other subjects I struggle with. Curse you Mathematics Just means I have to buckle down and really focus. That’s not a difficult thing to do when I have such an amazing girl waiting for me. @maimae27 is my inspiration, she came into my life at the perfect time. If it wasn’t for her I would’ve given up already. We’re both determined to do whatever it takes to make this work. It’s going to take time. There will most likely be blood, sweat and tears before this is over but no matter what happens, I know we’ll see this through to the end together.
College, as well as minor technical faults like the screen of my tv getting a huge crack across the middle has pretty much halted my YT Let’s Play channel. it’s like the universe is saying it’s best if I don’t do it at all but I still want to try a few more games. So I’ll do this one more time. This Sunday I’ll get back into capturing. If you guys have seen my videos already, any input, criticisms, comments would be very well appreciated. I do want this to become a regular thing and get started, even as a little fish in a huge ocean of better Let’s Players and Streamers out there. If you guys have any suggestions of what games you want to see me play, they would be more than welcome but if I get nothing I have some ideas just to get back into it before I attempt the mount I had planned if you didn’t read a previous journal I said I’d do the MGS games in chronological order and a Mass Effect 1-3 Let’s Play
My other plans for the summer are a little more sensible. To help out with the college fees next year I hope to get a part time job somewhere anywhere I’ve already done out the math and the least amount I’d bring in is 2 grand. Save 90% and spend about 200 on a new external HDD to save absolutely everything I make. I figure keeping everything, raw footage included would be a good thing for the future. Never know what might happen. So if I’m lucky I’ll get somewhere, get the hours and the money and pay about half of next year’s fees. I also have plans on getting fit again. Me and a friend are going to join a gym and go on a regular basis. Only three years ago I was using my school’s gym. About 2-3 years hours every week. Most of that was on a treadmill or playing ping pong with friends but it was enough. I started going on Fridays before Christmas and the plan was to continue but that sort of fell through. I was going alone then so now that a friend is coming with it should keep me going regularly. at least it gives me someone to nag when it comes time to leave Probably just stick with the treadmill again. Hopefully I don’t share the same experience as Gus as #217. I think I’ll die if that happens.
Going off topic just a bit but I’ve done two movie reviews on the journal before of The Avengers and Iron Man 3. I’m not sure if they will be a regular thing on here but it’s something I love doing, discussing and picking apart movies with friends. If people like those, I have some ideas for a Star Trek Into Darkness review. And I know that anyone with a blog or YT channel and a camera can do this and call themselves “critics” or reviewers but as I said, I don’t think this will be a regular thing and if people like them well then that’s fantastic. If they don’t, well that’s not quite as good but hey, they aren’t on the site for me.

Iron Man 3 ReviewThis will be spoiler free as best I can but in case some fall through the cracks know that if you are a fan of any of the Iron Man movies and The Avengers then you must go and see this.
First off I want to talk about the new suit, the one in the trailer that looks like this.
The suit is pretty fucking sweet as it is though I had trouble with the colour scheme from the first time I saw it, I mean why change from the established primary red that we all know and love. I guess this is just nerd hate.
But getting to the actual movie, I really enjoyed it. Robert Downey Jr is Tony Stark still and nailed the performance perfectly. It starts out in 1999 New Years Eve party, Tony is drunk, meets some pretty girls and is living the life. He is brings up a girl to the bedroom and gets shown some wonderful new idea. Technology to rewrite DNA so that organic beings regrow missing limbs. Sounds fantastic apart from a certain "glitch" where they tend to explode. Skip ahead to the future and now of course though, Tony is going through some issues having nearly died in New York. You remember New York right?
Yeah, Tony does and the memories haunt his dreams and that means little sleep. To fix this problem he as he says "tinkers." by which he really means building a buttload new suits, the newest pictured above the Mk42. A suit that will fly to him and assemble at any moment and one that he can control by remote with a headset. And while he is in his basement building his own army of suits, The Mandarin...
yep, this guy is bombing cities in the US of A and putting out some pretty effective propaganda/terror videos. At first the American government's plan was to use the Iron Patriot system to combat The Mandarin
Apparently "War Machine" on the left is too violent and aggressive an image for people to handle. So they rebranded him and used him like they used Captain America and he became a new propaganda piece as the Iron Patriot. Although instead of touring the country making people feel good he actually went places and did some stuff. But the problem is The Mandarin is still at large, taking over nation broadcasts at will showing all of the American people his own propaganda. So who do the people turn to. The one and only Iron Man of course. And when that happens, Tony Stark calls him out, tells him his house address and then this happens.
Who knew telling a mass murdering terrorist you are going to kill him and then tell him your own home address would be a bad idea.
But remember that fantastic miracle limb growing technology, well Aldrich Killian...
this guy went along and created it. Pretty awesome right? well yeah except there's the whole he's a dick. I mean look at that picture, does that scream trustworthy guy?
He has his own plans and he has a few of his own super powered soldiers to carry them out which is bad more a lot of people. Saying any more start to stray into spoiler territory so I'll leave the rest for you to see yourself HOWEVER if you've seen the last trailer that was put out you will have seen this moment already
and it is the most epic thing in the movie, just a full army of flying suits.
So overall this movie is everything you should expect from an Iron Man movie that was given enough time to do everything. RDJ's Tony Stark is still awesome, Rhodes as the Iron Patriot has some awesome moments, have a few comedic moments
WARMACHINEROX
That made everyone in the theater laugh out load, literally, as well as some of the characters in the scene. This movie has the burden of being the first Avenger's 2 set up movies, and it can be seen as the sequel to Iron Man 2 and The Avengers and it pulled it off well. And of course there is a scene after the credits, it's something we've all come to expect from these movies. If I were to give this a numeric rating I'd say 9/10 but in words, if you like The Avengers, you like the Iron Man movies, you like seeing damaged characters deal with big issues, big explosions and intense action, you will too enjoy this movie.

yes readers, this is a 10 year RoosterTeeth happy birthday/double digits/congrats journal entry thing. and so we begin at the beginning and we continue until the end or the present i guess, which isn't the end at all
Many Many Years Ago, I visited a fair and wondrous land of New Hampshire in the United States of America. okay not that many years ago maybe 3, going on 4. my family has friends over there and every now and then we go visit or they come over here to visit. i always preferred visiting them though cause they have a really beautiful house on a lake and for two weeks out of the year i can just do absolutely nothing, flake out and spend days just floating in the water all day if i wanted to and have no one give me shit about it. when it gets dark though, that's when we'd start a fire and eat high sugar foods and tell some stories, never really any campfire ghost stories, just random anecdotes that'll get a laugh and keep spirits high and such. but this one time it was too damp for a fire so my friend, who we shall call....Brandon for that is his name asked me if i wanted to see this silly video on youtube that a friend of his told him about.
it was the first episode of the blood gulch chronicles and i thought, "well it's alright i guess" but then we continued to watch these 5 minute videos until episode 20 or 30 that night and the next night when i came time to set up the fire i was like, let's do this quick so we can watch more of redvsblue. we watched the 100 episodes in three nights, and we were quoting the show the rest of the holiday and the parents almost hated us i think at the random bursts of laughter at the weird and stupid things we heard on this show. so we finished the show as we knew it, on youtube, never once thinking we should go to the site that pops up at the end of every one of these videos and it took a really long time before i thought to go on here when i got home. thinking back it's an embarrassingly long time since the end of the blood gulch chronicles to me coming onto the site, and at first it wasn't to sign up and join this wonderful community to my ever eternal regret it was to catch up on the show that continued without my knowledge. when i finally did sign up it was the around the time season 8 was out, i think.
i don't know if anyone cares about this bit or any of this to be honest but my username is basically me overcoming a spelling mistake i make all the damn time. really it should be BluePhoenix but i always Always ALWAYS spell it pheonix, so i thought this time, fuck it, i'm spelling it the other way so Phoenix became Fenix from starcraft to be 100% honest when i FINALLY signed up i browsed the forums a little, joined the ever popular Fun Questions with a Question thread which still lives after a really long goddamned time, which is a really good thing and @baydemon should actually be proud of i think, shoutout to her and send some love. that forum thread is how i met a few people on here at first, we chatted a bit but then i met @xBRITxHyBriD and it'd be really great if he could comment below how that happened cause i've no fucking clue.
the people i'd call my closest friends though, on this site came from that random meeting with xbrit because, during the livestreams of E3 last year, he sent me a message on Skype asking if i wanted an invite to a Skype group chat and we'd all talk about the awesomeness of that event and that's when i met @Karl, @ZonkedExpo, @Darkhologram and @WhiteVader. thanks to them talking almost none stop about random shit on twitter i finally made one myself, having said for a very long time i'd never bother with that site, it makes no sense to me at all micro blogging, and through that and recommendations i made more twitter and Skype friends from the RoosterTeeth site like @Hightower, @the_wiganer, @GhostXXIV, @GheTToCl0wN and a bunch more. i'd like to thank everyone single one of you for taking time out to make this site what it is and for making me feel like an absolute tool not signing up sooner.
and as i was writing this journal i realised something, if it wasn’t for Brandon that holiday showing me this silly webseries on youtube, I never would have met @xBRITxHyBriD, who would never have invited me to the Mega Fun Group on skype where I met @Karl, @ZonkedExpo, @Darkhologram, @WhiteVader, and if I was never on there I wouldn’t have been part of a game @Darkhologram suggested which involved omegle.com and the word AWOL, and if that didn’t happen in my life i would never have met my girlfriend the love of my life it’s long distance, it can be hard sometimes but i can not think of a time when i won’t be in love with this woman, and i also think i will recreate Thumper’s reaction when we do finally kiss.
Update (Minecraft Heavy)So again the universe has decided I should take a break from my Let’s Play channel as I mentioned in my previous journal HOWEVER I am here to say that I will have a replacement tv very soon and a new external HDD which is sorely needed and that the first thing I am doing is setting it all up and recording 3-4 hours of Mass Effect 1 and if I can a friend over get a few split-screen versus matches in one of my favourite games back on the gamecube now available on PSN and I think xbox marketplace “Cel Damage Overdrive” if you know this game then you should agree with me the Cinder is the best, if you don’t know this game go download it, play it, come back and then agree with me. If you didn’t read my last journal I’ll tell you now that I have a bunch of planned Let’s Plays for the future that include the above games plus the MGS series originally stated will be in in-game chronological order but that means playing MGS3, Peace Walker, MGS1, MGS 2 and MGS 4 I realise that is a fucktonne of games with the ME trilogy and the MGS chronology but those will be long term project done in short bursts whenever I have the time, the other more one off games like the two already completed, Saints The Third and The Walking Dead will be much more regular and once I finish this year of college I hope to get myself some job somewhere and start buying some shiny new tech to better the channel and make it all nicer to watch for you. One of the ideas I had was to create a new world in Minecraft and capture that but the system I have is in no way a gaming system but I runs Minecraft well enough for the fun of it, but when I captured, the frame rate dropped to the point where it was unplayable never mind unwatchable for anyone else but I will for the moment talk about some of the projects I have and the server I run for me and my girlfriend. We’ll start I think with the server world, when we started we looked for somewhere nice to start building a house together but very quickly found that we were stuck in a forest, next to a jungle and an open plain so we started building with the jungle as our back garden and in the first few days our house looked like this and after a few months it looks more like this and in that time we’ve dug done, found a fucking huge maze of an abandoned mine, done our best to light up all the dark corners to make it safe, built a Nether Portal Found the Nether Fortress , bred an army of chickens which came to a server killing number of 200+ We made rainbow sheep some of our pigs turned to zombie pigmen due to the weather we thought it might have something to do with the portal being so close below the farm our farm has supplied us with so much on its own that we don’t really need those chickens, cows or pigs. During our adventures through the Nether Fortress I decided it’d be more convenient to just build a portal closer to the Fortress and find where the entrance is in the Overworld, and it decided that it would be just outside a village which was awesome but it was about a half hour walk from our farmhouse so over a weekend I built a rail system switching to creative mode for even more convenience Built between the mine under our farmhouse to the village. We claimed the temple as our own house and we’ve been building up the village so we have more villagers and some naturally spawning Iron Golems which would be very awesome to have. All in all we’ve had a fantastic time and a wonderful journey not that it’s going to end anytime soon and I’m loving every single moment we get to play together.
Because of college which I complain about a lot I know I have to leave for a few hours at a time and recently there’s been some hard times recently, high emotions and stress levels not between us, we’re good and I can only sit back in class and worry about what’s going on 11,000 kilometres away and wish I had some way of just being there with her, for her in more ways than comforting words through a skype call
Another Extended BreakAs I begin to set up my system for a Mass Effect 1 Let's Play, the beginning of what would have been a full trilogy with the one Shepard (something i haven't done yet) my playstation get's a little touchy (the component cable more than the ps3) and through a series of idiotic events I manage to drop a heavy thing and in the process of catching it I slam it against the tv and crack the inner screen so now i have no tv for no Let's Plays :'( I had so many planned Mass Effect trilogy, Metal Gear Solid Chronicles, Cel Damage Overload Split screen vs a friend, Sleeping Dogs and maybe some old school GTA San Andreas And also no gaming apart from minecraft for the foreseeable future which sucks a fucktonne in more than that one way, i have so many games as it is to play and not enough time for them now, sad face. Well, in the mean time i'll leave you with my Let's Play for one of the best games of last year in promise as soon as i can i will get the channel up and running again
I should do these more oftenCause the way i'm doing them now, too much time passes between these and i've to update so much. The reason i do this though is cause i don't like having short journals so we have a catch 22 going on.
So let's jump in with a shameless plug for my YT channel in which i have (currently) have all of The Walking Dead and Saint's Row The Third uploaded with the Alt Ending and DLC for Saint's to come and i'm thinking of doing the Mass Effect Trilogy and maybe the Metal Gear Solid series in chronological order, but those be done over a longer period of time so in between i'm open to suggestions, and i'd love to hear some feedback from those watching. I had thought of a Minecraft LP as they are really popular but my laptop can't handle the game and capture software at the same time and the frames drop to the point i can't play nevermind someone else trying to watch so that'll have to wait until i get a better system to work with.
College is a pain, as it always is. Now i've complained about this before so if you don't want to read this sort of thing before just move onto the next paragraph. The college is run by FUCKING IDIOTS. Our timetable has changed so many times in the last week alone, first of all they forgot an entire subject. Three hours had to be added that the guys supposedly in charge of who gets time in computer labs completely forgot about. Then computer lab time set for our project report, something that if we fail that's an instant repeat of the whole 3rd year was cut AND changed rooms and they didn't tell anyone at all in my course, not anyone in my class, our class rep or our project supervisors, the people who knew were the class now taking that computer lab the last change (so far) is a happier one cause it moved the only two classes on fridays to thursdays and now i have fridays off so and we were emailed about it so no complaints there, just a general why the fuck don't they sort all this out before we start the semester again.
Time for a brief review of Wreck-It Ralph, cause in case you didn't know it only got released yesterday in the UK and Ireland so if you are an American reading this and thinking it was months ago WRONG. i freaking love that movie, i'll admit to seeing it before on a okay-ish stream but there were a bunch of things i missed from that. like a few times when Sonic was on screen, not just the one time when he had lines, and a few of the background jokes like some graffiti of JENKINS and Sonic getting hit and rings falling out (see more Sonic) Sonic > Mario and this movie continues a trend with "kids" movies with me where i will cry at the sad moments Ralph just wants to be the good guy, and he really is a good guy i heard it described as the Toy Story of the modern gaming generation, i'd disagree with "modern" as the whole thing takes place inside arcade consoles but if you know enough gaming history and know the old school iconic characters you'll get all the reference jokes and love but it's not necessary really.
Probably the biggest news, and arguably what i should have started off with instead of being all selfish with my silly YT channel i'm am going to uncle very soon, my sister is in labour as i type this so probably by the morning after this. it's going to be pretty weird when that kind of hits me. i'll be an uncle, my parents being GRANDparents, my grandad will be a great grandad, she's living over in england so i wont be able to meet the newest edition to the family for a while yet but my mam will be over trying to help out as best she can so my sister wont be completely in the dark with her first child.
[EDIT] So my sister had her baby at 5.30am 09/02/2013 which means that about 2 hours after posting this, and after i fell asleep, she had the baby becoming a mother

While i am a little wary of this being a trilogy from one book i have, and so have many others, say movie adaptations are never long enough for a book, well now it's more than one. And it's the same director who brought us the epic Lord of the Rings, for now i trust that he'll do this right. On a slightly more technical note about the movie, i do agree that the 48fps is a bit weird for people first time seeing it and as a testbed for this new technology, something as big as The Hobbit may have been the wrong move, but the last really big thing in movie tech was 3D as we know it now that started off with Avatar, a huge movie also so maybe not the worst move in the world to make. Plus i cannot stop listening to Misty Mountain Cold. I want there to be a point in time where the barbarian choir who sang the Skyrim theme sing the entire song with all the lyrics.

I've started it up again with The Walking Dead and i will finish Saints but right now i have most of episode 2 edited and ready to upload and i can definitely see why it's Game of the Year, the dialogue is so awesome and the characters are really cool and the decisions, only in the second episode and they are harsh. And the consequences (i'm betting) will be so much worse for me. While really enjoying the game for what it is, i didn't feel good at the end which is how you're supposed to feel, bottom line it's a badass game and you should get it. Side point, reading up on The Walking Dead game, they creators are (trying to at least) have it so your episode 5 save can be imported to "season 2" and have every decision transfer over, if that works out i can see medium sized/episodic games kicking off in a huge way.
