Wow - First Recyled Podcast Theme?Heh... One of my Rooster Teeth Podcast theme songs was used for a very sharp animation piece from @RBIG.

Is this the first time a Rooster Teeth Podcast theme has been re-used for another production?

WHAT A LANDMARK DAY!

This announcement might have been drowned out by the far more important 'Like' System feature, but some people, including Yours Truly, have been slightly foxed by a difficulty in RT sponsorship: basically, that you can't cancel auto-renew.

...Not from RT's side, anyway. So...

To subscribe/sponsor RT:

1) Click your username (top-right) and the 'Sponsor' link.
2) Click '[auto-renew]'. You're taken to PayPal, and if you're re-newing from a private computer like most of us, the process of confirmations is pretty straight forward from there. Or...
3a) Create a PayPal account if you don't have one. While secure, newcomers to PayPal would be wise to get acquainted with their 1990s website and reports offered.
3b) If you have a PayPal account but are a first-time sponsor, you'll have to login and confirm the appropriate arrangement. Users should be old enough have credit/debit card access to an account.

To Unsubscribe/Unsponsor:

1) Click your username (top-right) and the 'Sponsor' link.
2) Feel the blood drain from your face when you don't see any 'Disable auto-renew' link.
3) Go through some user posts and find similar concerns.
4) Go back to the 'Sponsor' link and click 'PayPal'.
5) Login to your PayPal account.
6) Re-learn those non-obvious PayPal features you never used when you opened the account solely to make the sponsorship in the first place.
7) Find a report called 'History'. Panic when you see nothing to do with Rooster Teeth.
8) Extend your calendar range to cover at least the last 6-month period. A payment, and a link, to the last Rooster Teeth payment should be listed.
9) Click 'Details' on the RT row. This should list the details of the subscription arrangement you have with Rooster Teeth.
10) Click 'Cancel Subscription'.

You're welcome.

Helpful Note for Lamers:

I buy merch. I've sponsored lots. It's likely I'll re-new soon. S'all good.

Office Party NervesAt the time of writing, tomorrow is Thursday 20th in New Zealand. It's the office party day. Friday's off.

We have enough alcohol in the office break room to fuel a return trip to Lindsay Lohan's artistic credibility.

Today everyone in the office received a company Christmas gift: A bottle of wine, a bottle of champagne and NZ$500 cash in a christmas card. Tomorrow, we are required - I repeat, REQUIRED - to go to work and do nothing but eat barbecued rib-eye steak, potato chips and drink ourselves past Proxima Centaurii.

I'm worried.

I'm not a big drinker. I have half-a G in my wallet in crisp 50s. Mayan calendar misinterpreters might be onto something.

Fortunately, we also have an XBOX in the break room and a lot of avid players, so I'mma bring my own XBOX, secure it in a drip-free location and see how far an 8-way office Grifball tournament will get us.

Wish me luck.

... Fuck you, Lohan.

RequestWow. Time warp.

@Infinite_7 wrote me a while back requesting a song.
could you be wicked awesome and re-upload the original version of Get Out of my Head? I lost the file when my hard drive got wiped, and all I can find now is the Darklight remix on your Soundcloud.

Done.

Oroteeth's new Mod SystemGreetings Minions,

I've had trouble even beginning to tell you how ambivalent I am about so many of you underlings joining my site, but I'm about to start. Over the years this site has been in operation, I've weathered countless badgerings about changing my Mod system. It's an important part of this community, as it allows people to show others what you specifically and accurately think about a post... provided you can condense that thought into 1 of 8 ambiguous phrases with equally ambiguous positive or negative votes.

So I've revamped it. Because I personally feel you have enough sites out there that insistently demand you share every goddamed 'broken nail' story you found funny or life-threatening that minute of your life when you could have been actually CREATING something rather than seek status and approval by the callous and uncaring general public.

There is a positive side to sharing though. Commercial eyes can watch your trends, just like you do, and start selling you things you're more interested in. I wouldn't do that... but it's on my wish list.

From today, some new systems will go in place of the old mod system.

1) Non-sponsors will be able to edit posts and journals. I feel it's unfair to penalise those of use who are dyslexic, have English as a second language, or have a disability that affects typing, from sharing their creative spirit. However, the age limit will be more strictly enforced.

2) Anyone can mod a post up or down. A new page for like-stalkers will be given to users. Users can make this page available to others, or not. This will replace the 'Log' function.

3) Sponsors who mod posts increase their karma total. Once karma has reached a designated number of points, those points can be used to get discounts from my store. After all, Sponsors have paid for the use of the site, why not get a service that directly relates to money exchanging hands.

4) Oroteeth celebrates its funny, creative community by helping you create funny, creative content and services. It does NOT make it easier for you to share what you think about that content. There are millions of unoriginal, uncreative people out there trying to make a name for themselves as 'tastemakers', people who hunt out the best so their fans can subscribe. It's a fucking easy job. While on Oroteeth you will EARN your right to be part of this community.

Every person will be required to contribute something to their personal space or forum at least once a week. If you don't, nothing bad happens. However, I will track what you do and the areas you do it in. If, for instance, you write a lot of journals, once you hit a milestone I will give you more tools to make the writing easier with an extended editor. If you submit images I will give you on-site image editing tools. If you're a forum-rat you will earn the extended forum editing and tracking tools.

These tools are issued on a 'use' policy. If your use declines in one or all of these areas over a month, the tools go away and you'll have to re-earn them.

That is all.
