New Jersey? Why tho?It's no mystery that I like traveling and I do so as frequently as possible. However, since I was unemployed for a few months, I cut a lot of trips from my plans. I'll be hitting up RTO and RTX for sure, but now something else non-RT related has popped up.

A little convention called the "Steampunk World's Fair" in Piscataway, NJ. I'm not a huge steampunk person (I think it's cool as fuck though), but I have an opportunity to meet some online friends of mine there. If you've ever watched a little webseries called "EverymanHYBRID", it's some of those guys. A girl I've become friends with on Skype is also interested in going, so we may be able to make it work.

For fun, I will share the conversation that I had with this girl on Skype the other day.

Hello Rooster Teeth!What a pleasant surprise to log on this morning and see that I am the Featured User today!

I've been on the site for 6 years, and I actually didn't think it'd ever happen. I figured this would be a good time to say hello to anyone checking out my profile for the first time.

So, hello :D


Here's some random info about me (if you don't feel like digging through all my old journals):

- My username came from a lack of creativity, but it's easy enough to remember.
- My profile picture was done by the fantastic @lukemckay and I'm still in love with it. Portal
- My current sponsor tag (inHABITed) comes from an awesome Slenderman-based Youtube series called "EverymanHYBRID". I watch at least 20 different Slendervlog webseries.
- I went to the last 3 RvBTO events, and I'll be going to every RTO event in the future.
- I've been to both RTX events and they were each amazing.
- My favourite thing to come from this community is the Rooster Speak Teamspeak server.
- I love photography, severe weather and travelling.

Now this is a story all about...... how I did something crazy,
And I'd like to take a minute,
Just sit right there,
I'll tell you how I stole a box off someone's porch.

Allow me to elaborate. I ordered a Portal gun way back at the beginning of 2012, but because of issues with the distributor it took until the end of the year for it to get shipped out. When I ordered it I was still living at my old house. I figured it wouldn't be an issue that I moved, since we put a mail redirect on our names for the remainder of the year.

December 31st rolls around and I check the Canada Post tracker and it says the package is out for delivery. Yay! I go out to run some errands with my dad (my mom was home in case it showed up). I get home and check the tracker again.

It says the package was delivered. What?

I think for a second. Oh no. When I was out with my dad, we drove past my old house and I had joked about a cardboard box sitting on the porch and how it was going to get wet with the snow coming down.

That was my box. Fuck. Ok... I'll just go over there, talk to the owners of the house and explain the situation to get my precious box back.

Conveniently, my old house is only a 5 minute walk from my current one.

I start walking down the street, and notice that none of the lights are on and there aren't any cars in the driveway. Seems no one is home. I sneak up on the porch (to make sure the box is actually mine before I ring the doorbell) and sure enough, there's my name on it. I go to ring the doorbell, but hesitate.
This is MY package, why make a big deal out of it. No one is around, it's not technically stealing... fuck it."

So I grab the box (which ended up being heavy and awkward to carry) and I fucking JUMP off the porch and RUN down the street. I don't know why, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Get it home, tear it open, caress the Portal gun and weep gently for a while.

It was finally here :D
