Review for Oblivion [Spoilers]Full review here
I watched this last Friday at my local IMAX with high hopes that Joseph Kosinski's visual telling of his unpublished novel of the same name was going to be one of this years stand out films; unfortunately the hype and marketing turned out to be better than the final product as it often the case these days. The movie is set in the beautiful country of Iceland, and cinematography wise it looked great owing the stunningly unique vistas that the county has to offer. It was shot in 4K using the brand new Sony CineAlta F65 camera, which was a good decision of the director who tested various other means of filming including 3D which he dropped in favor of 4K. The film itself actually starts off OK for the first 40 minutes, but then started to get a tad boring. It's only when we are introduced to some of the human survivors on Earth, lead by Morgan Freeman (Beech) and his No.2 played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Sykes) that the film begins to look like it will begin to move in a better direction. Sadly, both Freeman and Coster-Waldau parts in the film are underused and fairly short, which is a pity as there could have been some great dialogue scenes if they had of allowed the 3 actors to bounce-off each other.

Yesterday, our Sun unleashed an incredible M4.7 Class flare that was captured by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory. The flare only lasted a short amount of time, and there were no CME's (Coronal Mass Ejections) associated with it.
The image below is shown in the 131 Angstrom wavelength, a wavelength that is typically colorized in teal and that provided the most detailed picture of this particular flare.
