LifeJust to give you guys an update on what's going on with me.

The kids are still crazy. Ava is 5 and will be starting Kindergarten this year. Nat is 2 and is potty training. So happy I'm not going to have to buy diapers soon.

The wifey still loves her job and is still the best wife and mother on the planet.

I got a promotion. I'm now the supervisor over 24 people. It's been stressful so far getting to know the ins and outs of the job while trying to balance my old job until someone gets hired/transfers. So basically, YAY MORE MONEY, boo responsibility. Eventually, too, I'll be off of weekends and just work Mon-Fri. I can't believe I'll actually have normal work hours... so refreshing.

We got our money all ready for the trip to Houston/Austin in July. Can't wait to go! Going to be refreshing to see all your faces again.

So, what's going on with you guys?

Screen GemsThe group that @Zeke and I started turned 5 years old!

We started this group as a way to keep in touch after Cory moved from Tennessee to Florida and it's been a lot of fun. I can't believe that it's still going strong after this long. Even though Zekie-boy posts 95% of all the content, I still feel a sense of pride with every news post, every drive-in, and every "Intermission" that I read. The best part, it's 100% original content. Everything from the segments to even the posters such as these:

Feel free to take a look at some of the news posts such as the 2013 Summer Movie Preview (it's the one where I forgot to mention that Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the many reasons I'm excited about the new Start Trek film) and Zeke's list of Batman projects he wants to see come to life!

Or if anything, just join and not see updates from the news posts! Ok, I say this, but my support ticket from 7 months ago has been updated as "Adam is working in this." Lets hope for some good news.

Group News PostsI'm having to post this right now because group news posts seem to just get... lost. I'm not sure how anyone else feels about this, but there's some groups I'm in that are pretty damn important to me and I feel horrible when I miss a news post. I'm an admin in the Rooster Teeth Community Group (you know the one with 3600+ members), and the news posts just fall flat at times.

It's definitely a problem with the "new" site layout that really needs to be looked into. I actually created a support ticket 7 months ago, but haven't heard anything back. Sure, it could be low on their list (they are a busy group and all), but it would be nice to at least hear something back.

I wrote all of that to let you guys know that @zeke and I just collaborated on a 2013 Summer Blockbuster Preview post in the long-running Screen Gems group! Go check it out to see which movies we're looking forward to the most and the ones that I just don't really care to see.

P.S. If you are also experiencing frustration about lost group news posts, then say something about it. It may feel like complaining, but nothing will get done if no one says anything.

Do this:Listen to this

While reading the lyrics:
Someone told me once
that there's a right and wrong,
punishment would come to those
who dare to cross the line.

But it must not be true
for jerk-offs just like you.
Maybe it takes longer to catch a total asshole.
but I'm tired of waiting.

Someone told me once
that there's a right and wrong,
punishment would come to those
who dare to cross the line.

But it must not be true
for jerk-offs just like you.

Maybe it's just bullshit and I should play GOD,
and shoot you myself.
Because I'm tired of waiting.

Consequences dictate
our course of action
and it doesn't matter what's right.
It's only wrong if you get caught.
If consequences dictate
my course of action
I should play GOD
and shoot you myself.
I'm very tired of waiting.

I should
kick you,
beat you,
fuck you,
and then shoot you in your fucking head.

While doing that you will know how I feel about these people:

This world has no place for people who hate this much. I know it's sort of beating a dead horse and I shouldn't be surprised that they're going to picket the funerals of the Boston bombings, but for me it's just another time where Christians are misrepresented by homophobic, anti-American, non-Christian, hate-worshiping trash that make up the body of this "church."

Seriously fuck them.

I'm tired of waiting.

Ok, so I'm not saying I'm against some sort of gun control and tighter background checks and the like, but please tell me that this Boston marathon stuff doesn't make some people realize that people are just fucked up. That whether they can get their hands on guns or not, these people will find a way to do their damage.

Be in prayers for the ones in critical condition and the families of the ones who died. I don't want to make something this horrible to be turned into a political debate, I just wanted to get that off my chest.

I hope everyone I know who lives that way and their families are ok.

<3

Edit: @dixonij made a terrific point. The greatest help the general population can do when things like this happen is to donate blood. Thanks for that, man!

Retro ReviewOk, I know I promised a retro review of Secret of Mana, but that game's long and I don't want to half-ass it. So, I'll do a long time favorite of mine, Mega Man X.

Today I threw it in my SNES, just for S&G's, and ended up beating the game for the first time. I know, that's pretty crazy, but I'm almost positive that I only made it to Velguader, Sigma's pet dog when I was a kid.

One thing I've always loved about all of the NES Mega Man games is that you choose your own path. Mega Man X is no different. Each boss has a weakness that you have to obtain from another boss, but it goes farther than that. For instance, if you beat Chill Penguin before you go to Flame Mammoth level then all of the lava will be turned to ice. You can pretty much walk under most of the baddies in the level. You can do the same with Spark Mandrill's level by beating Storm Eagle first.

When I was a young, I simply loved the character of Mega Man. He's a dude with a fucking gun for an arm. What's not to love? Especially after finding out that Samus was a chick! And the thing about this game? It's just so very... complete You have a definite beginning, one that Egoraptor did a much better job explaining, and a fun and challenging ending. It has a lot of stuff that games these days just don't have. One of which is a feeling of pride when you see those credits rolling. This comes from the game not having to help you out constantly throughout the gameplay. Same goes with games like Ninja Gaiden, StarTropics, and even the original Super Mario Bros! You feel like you're actually accomplishing something as you get passed each challenge. Another thing games these days are missing that bring back so much memories:

Passwords are the best... unless they were stupid fucking symbols instead of number... uuugh.

Mega Man X gets my top score, 4/4 for being one of the best games on the best gaming system.
