Are You a Volunteer?Hey guys! I thought this would be a fun way to meet some of the people who were picked as volunteers for RTX 2012. I'm sure Barbara and Gus have ice breakers or stuff planned but it'd be nice to get to know some of y'all before all of that. So, if you are a volunteer, post your name, age, where you're from, and anything cool about you. Can't wait to meet you guys!

stalkknow right?Name: Alexandra Elizabeth Anne...but call me Lexie since my entire first name would take too long to say
Age: 27, my birthday is in April however so I'll be 28 for the event itself
Location: New Jersey, South-Central (inside joke) I'm in that nebulous area known as 'Central Jersey' that doesnt' really exist to anyone unless you live there. Like Shangri-La. Or Canada.
Cool Facts: I'm pristinely
ungifteduncool, so uncool I tend to make random comments that involve bookish knowledge because books are my life. And cool facts? I'm simply a crazy nerd. :P
Cool? Uhhhhh.... lets see... I am almost done with classes and look forward to putting to use what I learned. Wait no that's not cool... ummm... I like beer, is that cool?
Depends on what your classes are XD If they are leading towards an interesting career now that's something else.
Name: Kat
Age: 21
Location: Smack dab in South Austin!
Cool Facts: I'm a theater major at St. Edward's and I have the most badass cat ever.

depends on the kind of beer
Age: 23
Location: Miami, FL (but I might move to DC right before the event)
Cool Facts: My toes are webbed and I have a dog named Win
Name: Alex, but most people call me by my last name, Bennett
Age: 19 (and I don't drink so I'm not missing out)
Location Living in Berkeley, Ca, studying at Cal
Cool Fact: I completed the entire Pokedex in Red, Blue, Silver, and Sapphire
Due to my not being from CA which school is Cal because you all have 2 million that could go under that name
Haha oh my bad, Cali natives just say Cal. University of California, Berkeley. The one with the bears and the protests
Oh I know that school, it was my top choice when I applied to school but wasn't allowed to apply because it was too far from home. Lucky you
Oh that's rough.
American University in Washington, DC. I just graduated in May 2011. I don't mind it there is will Boalt for law school haha
I'm Katie, I'm 22, and from Tucson, Arizona.
Cool? Define cool. lol
Mostly, I work and go to school, and just hang out and do nerdy things. lol Like playing with legos or annoying my friends with my unending Star Trek marathons. I'm SO psyched for RTX, last year was a blast, this is going to be even better!
Cool cool!
And nice to meet you Katie, legos are indeed awesome.
I consider it interesting. I will be going into Non-Destructive Testing, which is just a fancy way of saying I will be inspecting stuff for flaws using neat gadgets!
It depends honestly, I like many different kinds of beer, pilsners, stouts, ambers, and ales. I like to try a different beer every time I go to the bar haha.
We have a bar here with 120+ beers on draft, and I'm slowly making the rounds
Age: 24
Location: Greenville, NC
Something cool: I am one of those engineers who will build it instead of buy it. So I have built a table, 4 chars, entertainment wall unit and just recently a jib (camera) crane out of PVC, wood, and duct tape (an engineer’s best friend).
Dude sounds more fun than being a paralegal (which isn't a fair statement, the law is boring but I get to do as much research as I want, so that makes me happy).
Jeez there's a lot of Alex's! I'm glad I go by Lexie :D Hi everybody!
Name: Grady Bailey
Age: 24
From: Austin, TX
Cool fact: I co-host RT SideQuest with Count3D. Come join us at some of our events during RTX!
Age: 27
From: 30 mins south of Austin
Cool Fact: I was a Guardian last year, after coming close to helping put on a fan event in Austin with the RvBTX group. We were about 2 weeks away from selling tickets when the first RTX was announced. Now we're a meetup group.
In reply to GB330033, #22:
So you decided to do both eh?
Post edited 2/14/12 7:01PM
I did! Barbara asked me ahead of time if I thought I could do both, and I figured I'd make it work. We shouldn't have TOO much to do for SideQuest during the weekend, since we're hoping to have most of it done ahead of time
Nice. Power to ya man. You were pretty much an honorary Guardian last year for helping out during the zombie shoot. That was crazy.
Also, this thread is stickied now? Sweet.

I frequent Old Chicago a lot and taking part of their world beer tour which has 110, I think I am at like 71 as of Sunday.
You are a gentleman and a scholar.
I enjoyed the classes, but actually doing it in a work environment is probably a little different we shall see. I am just finishing up gen eds right now, which are proving more difficult than the actually classes.
I am jealous of your cool fact thing... Awesome to say the least.
haha Why thank you!
