Oh yes. And though I may not be a very big C.S. Louis fan; the Chronicles of Narnia was a great series.

Dune, by Frank Hebert was dubbed science fictions supreme masterpiece by the new york times.
It's a beautifully written book, and without a doubt my all time favorite.

I read a lot of non-fiction. My must-recommend book for everyone is A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson, especially if you are of a scientific bent (I'm sure a lot of you guys are). In fact, anything by Bill Bryson is awesome, he's my favourite author.

I kind of skimmed the recomendations, but I am mildly surprised to have not seen The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, or any others in the increasingly inaccurately named Hitchhiker's Trilogy. All five of them (written by Douglas Adams) are amazingly funny, entertaining and contemplative. Must reads for sure.

Christopher Moore is my go to author in between long books, or a series of books. His writing is hilarious and I have yet to be disappointed with one of his books.

Highly recommend LOTR, Harry Potter, and the Dune series as many others have.

I'll add The Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey, The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlene Harris , which is what True Blood is based on, Riley Jenson, Guardian series by Keri Arthur, The Blackdagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward, and The Dark Hunter series by Sherilyn Kenyon...the first two books of the series have been made into mangas.

If you liked The Witcher video games, I would highly recommend The Last Wish, by Andrzej Sapkowski. It's kinda cool to see these little details that are just kinda mentioned in conversation in the book, and how they took those really neat ideas and turned them in to quests in the various games.

And if anyone remembers a time when vampires, werewolves, and various other mystical beasts where really cool, especially in an urban fantasy setting, I refer you to Staked, by J.F. Lewis. First in the Void City series, Eric is a vampire who doesn't remember how he became a vampire, and he sure as hell doesn't know why he's in an ally with a guy who's been torn limb from limb. Zany misadventure awaits!

Round the bend by Jeremy Clarkson (The host of Top Gear for those who don't know who he is). it's probably one of the funniest books ever written about cars.

If you're into cars it's definitely worth reading.

I would recommend Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicles. The first two books in the trilogy are name of the wind and the wiseman's fear.

I have a few recommendations one is more of a children's series but lemony snicket's, seris of unfortunate events, always grabbed me and they were imaginative and fun reads. For a more adult series of books I would recommend the mistborn trilogy (now there's four books in the series but one is a novella) written by brandon sanderson, who is a great author. He was choosing to finish the wheel of time series after robert jordan died, and wrote the infinity blade novel ( and he's an avid gamer and all around cool dude) but mistborn has great characters, an awesome rule based magic system, politics, war, theiving, and all the other stables that make for a good fantasy novel. I urge people to check it out, if not our missing out.
