What Should I Read? Book SuggestionsSo I used to read quite a bit, but until recently I just didn't have the time to anymore. I'm starting to get back into it and I've already got some books picked out. I'd like some suggestions on what else I should pick up to read. I have already picked up--
The Halo Novel Series
World War Z
Halo The Forerunner Saga
Awesome, how far are you?

The only book that ever made me cry.)

1.Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space - Carl Sagan
2.Brave New World - Aldous Huxley
3.Steve Jobs: A Biography - Walter Isaacson
4.The Demon-Haunted World: Science As A Candle In The Dark - Carl Sagan
5.The Greatest Show On Earth: Evidence for Evolution - Richard Dawkins
6.1984 - George Orwell
7.God Is Not Great - Christopher Hitchens
8.The God Delusion - Richard Dawkins
9.Rifles For Watie - Harold Keith
10.On the Origin of Species - Charles Darwin
Too repetative.
Throw in some Herbert senior, Bradbury, and Munsch.
Dune, by Frank Hebert was dubbed science fictions supreme masterpiece by the new york times.
It's a beautifully written book, and without a doubt my all time favorite.
Thanks! I'll definitely pick it up when I can get to a bookstore.
I'll add The Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey, The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlene Harris , which is what True Blood is based on, Riley Jenson, Guardian series by Keri Arthur, The Blackdagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward, and The Dark Hunter series by Sherilyn Kenyon...the first two books of the series have been made into mangas.
And if anyone remembers a time when vampires, werewolves, and various other mystical beasts where really cool, especially in an urban fantasy setting, I refer you to Staked, by J.F. Lewis. First in the Void City series, Eric is a vampire who doesn't remember how he became a vampire, and he sure as hell doesn't know why he's in an ally with a guy who's been torn limb from limb. Zany misadventure awaits!
If you're into cars it's definitely worth reading.
A Song of Fire and Ice.
Anything by George Orwell.
I would recommend Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicles. The first two books in the trilogy are name of the wind and the wiseman's fear.
I just bought the Mistborn trilogy and am looking forward to starting it. I am glad to hear lots of positive reviews.
i'm glad to hear, this is fantastic news to me! also there is a mistborn game being worked on right now, and it and all the dialog is being written by brandon sanderson, it's going to be and action rpg (kingdoms of amalur, dragon age, darksouls) and slated for release fall 2013.
