Coming to RTX again next year? I sure as hell am. Assuming RoosterTeeth does it again of course. I hope we didn't cause to much problems for them, and I hope they had as much fun as I did, and as I hope you guys did. I hope they decide to do this again every year, because I will definitely be going.

Rumor has it that there will be RTX 2012. Gus called it RTX 2 Now with A/C! But the event will be much larger.

Most definitely. This weekend was a blast even though I'm dead tired and positive that being surrounded by about 500 people everyday made me a bit sick.

EDIT: "Sick" in a coughing and sore throat way. Not "sick" in an "I'm tired of all these people" kind of way because I could never get sick of all you guys. :)

I'm definitely going to if I can get tickets again. If I don't get tickets then I will probably just take a vacation to Austin at RTX time anyway because I that city now.

For me, it was a combo of getting 14 hours of sleep from when I first woke up at 3 AM Thursday morning until I finally passed out (and slept 15 hours straight) at 7 PM Sunday night, the estimated 12 vodka on the rocks and 34 beers I drank, the 4 packs of cigarettes I smoked because I was awake so long, allergies from being outside so much with high winds, and spending all of Sunday trying to stay hydrated one step away from heat exhaustion (tried sitting closer for the first hour or two, but I started getting dizzy and nauseous so I stayed in the tent after that) that made me feel like crap.

For the record, I almost always describe the best times of my life with the hardships I suffered. Ask me how Warped Tour 1998 was and I'll just list off my injuries before saying "It was awesome!" Even as horrible as I felt Sunday, I wouldn't have missed a second of it for anything.

It seems like all awesome times come with something that is just awful. Screamingly bad sunburns are my downside to awesome times.

Also, I can't believe you got so sick from the heat. The way you describe it is so disheartening but I'm glad you still had a good time despite being so miserable Sunday.

I talked to Gus about it. He said they are going to call it RTX 2: Now with A/C.

He was throwing out numbers of around 4-6k for next years RTX. So that being said, I would count out the Office tours, the meet and greets, and the Shoot. So we must all counter our selves lucks that we got to be there. It was amazing.

I would love to see RTX 2 (or some other RTX) be in Vegas. Not that Austin wasn't amazing and a great place to visit, but Vegas....come on its Vegas....

No. Austin. For being as big of a geeky city as Austin is, we don't have a big geeky convention. We need one badly. Vegas has E3, SoCal and NYC have Comic Con, Seattle/Boston have PAX...

Besides, can you honestly tell me you could stand going to another theater other than the Alamo Drafthouse after being there? There's a reason Tarantino does his movie marathons here in Austin rather than in LA.

E3 is in LA, but CES is in Vegas. The Draft House was amazing, but can they really support the capacity of future RTX events? I loved the experience the way it was. It was perfect, and I'm honored to have been apart of this one time only event. Any future RTX will never compare to the intimacy that this one had. And when I think of a place with out intimacy...I think Vegas

Google "Rolling Roadshow". Short answer: Yes.

Logistically, I don't see it happening. Providing transportation for thousands of people from multiple hotels to a single theater with a max capacity of 1200 or so, wouldn't work very well. They would have to adopt the screenings the way they do at PAX or Comic Con. The charm of this even was its relatively small size. This allowed us to experience the finer points that make Austin such an awesome city. With a larger group, it will be hard to capture that again.

Once again, google "Rolling Roadshow". The Drafthouse uses a massive 60 foot inflatable screen and projection system to screen films to thousands of people and they do so on a regular basis. Also, this town handles tens of thousands of tourists twice a year for South by Southwest and Austin City Limits with no problems other than exhausted bartenders and jacked-up parking prices.

But then it wouldn't be RTX. It'd be RTNV. This was the only RT event I've been able to go to (poor unemployed college student here) because I lived in the state and city they were hosting it in. The whole point of RTX was to have an event where Rooster Teeth is based.

I was still impressed they got 500 geeks/nerds to actually be outside for more than 30 min, It was an impressive feat!

I actually didn't mind the TX heat that much compared to a humidity, I prefer it there more.

Though I definitely want to go again even if it is outside again. It was totally worth everything

So it wouldn't be the same thing as we saw then if its not in those theaters. I never said that Austin couldn't handle the crowd for a larger RTX. I just don't think the physical building for the Drafthouse, the RT office, or a single hotel meeting room/pool could. Having offsite locations for an event (theoretically) of these sizes is a logistical nightmare. If and when RTX does grow to a large size, it will be in a convention center, and only there. At least all the official events

In reply to Artymas, #24:

Ahh but Rooster Teeth Expo could be anywhere. Just like PAX, any location for that event can be a success. My point is that the original RTX experience can't be duplicated if the event grows. Would they move it from Austin? Probably not, but they are always looking for a chance to visit Las Vegas.

We got to experience something that honestly people will not get to experience again because honestly guys this thing got HUGE real fucking fast! I mean come on we broke the first ticket system... and this was only the first one.,... can't wait till RTX2012.. and I honestly want to try to go to RVBTO! :)

I had to scrape together the funds to come to this year's RTX, but by this time next year I should be a bit more liquid in my assets, so I'll certainly make the trip down again. Hopefully I won't have to drive to Detroit and fly from there next time, but if the price of plane tickets from Toronto to Austin keeps sucking like it does, it might still be the better option. I definitely wouldn't fly and drive on the same day again, though.

I have a feeling that RTX 2012 and beyond will land either in the Austin Convention Center or the Palmer Events Center, both of which are amazing venues
