When did you start listening to the podcast?
This thread is for reminiscing. How did you discover the Drunk Tank podcast?
Here's my story:
In December 2008, I got in to a film festival in Austin you may have heard about on the podcast called BNAT. While I was down there I thought I might as well visit the RT office. Despite being really busy, they were pretty accommodating to all of my questions.
"What's that?" I asked, pointing at some waveforms on Burnie's computer. "Something new we've been working on, it's kind of an audio update thing- hey Matt, do you know how to encode this?" "I dunno, I've never done that before." "Gus do you know how to encode this?" "No." "Does ANYBODY know how to encode this? Hello? Does anybody know how to encode this?" "Mind if I give it a listen?" "Sure! It'll be up on the site as soon as we re-encode it."
In truth, I almost forgot about this. It didn't hit me for a while because it was months before they released another episode, established a schedule and gave it a name, but that was the premiere of the DrunkTank. Been listening to it ever since!

In fact...the first time I ever met Count3D (and realized who was...he had taken my photo earlier, but we weren't properly introduced) was at PAX and he gave me a signed Drunk Tank shirt as a twitter prize. I still have that shirt.
I was hooked ever since!
Now at work I come in and start playing them on a giant loop while I am at work. I have listened to all of them from #1 to the present about 10 times now.
Do you have the DT shot glass?
When I saw those at RTX, I about screamed.

I think there have only been one or two episodes where they are actually drunk. Otherwise it's pretty much pure entertainment and hilarity from start to finish.
Has anyone here submitted a Theme Song?
I'm the same
Been there since #1
So here's to Jack, for playing a more-than-average role in my first DT experience. Looking forward to another sports discussion.
In reply to korokva117, #12:
And yeah, I got a glass at RTX. Now I have a little DT wherever I go.
I'd suggest so. It's a fulfilling part of every Wednesday.
Like, Episode 2, before it was iTunes.
I liked it before it was popular...

I'm right there with you I listened to my first DT podcast like 3 months ago, and now I am slowly but surely working my way through all the past ones. And it's replaced my music on the way to work every morning as well, shits addictive.
