When did you start listening to the podcast?

This thread is for reminiscing. How did you discover the Drunk Tank podcast?

Here's my story:

In December 2008, I got in to a film festival in Austin you may have heard about on the podcast called BNAT. While I was down there I thought I might as well visit the RT office. Despite being really busy, they were pretty accommodating to all of my questions.

"What's that?" I asked, pointing at some waveforms on Burnie's computer.
"Something new we've been working on, it's kind of an audio update thing- hey Matt, do you know how to encode this?"
"I dunno, I've never done that before."
"Gus do you know how to encode this?"
"No."
"Does ANYBODY know how to encode this? Hello? Does anybody know how to encode this?"
"Mind if I give it a listen?"
"Sure! It'll be up on the site as soon as we re-encode it."

In truth, I almost forgot about this. It didn't hit me for a while because it was months before they released another episode, established a schedule and gave it a name, but that was the premiere of the DrunkTank. Been listening to it ever since!

It was recommended it to me by a friend of mine a few years back. Not really much of a story but I was an instant fan! Since then I think I have listened to the entire library 3 or 4 times and it is still as funny as the first time I heard it. One of my faves it the argument between Gus and Burnie in episode #111 around the thirty minute mark. Cracks me up ever single time.

I've been a member of the site since May 2010. I started listening to Drunk Tank at the beginning of June when I stumbled upon the podcast group. I have been listening every week since.

In fact...the first time I ever met Count3D (and realized who was...he had taken my photo earlier, but we weren't properly introduced) was at PAX and he gave me a signed Drunk Tank shirt as a twitter prize. I still have that shirt.

I don't remember the 1st DT that I heard but I do remember laughing almost to death when listening to the one with The_Skittz. Where Burnie and Geoff are arguing about office duties and Gus saying, "Calm down guys. What would The_Skittz say?"

I was hooked ever since!

First one I listened to was #18. Loved it instantly! I've listened to them all so many times now that I can nearly recite each of them after hearing their theme songs!

Wow, tough to say... I started listening to it probably around episode 30 or 40 maybe? I've listened to all of them now of course, but I think that's when I started.

I was very late to the game. I think my first one was around 95. I went back to listen to all of them and I'm up to 91. Listening to it right now, actually.

Right around the time the first one was released I was trying to build a special cabinet for all the shot glasses I have and so I found it the link on the community site for the Drunk Tank. I thought it was fitting since I was making something that was indirectly related to drinking so I started listening to it as I was building it and have been hooked since.

Now at work I come in and start playing them on a giant loop while I am at work. I have listened to all of them from #1 to the present about 10 times now.

I saw the Achievement Hunter video for 7 day survivor in Dead Rising. In it, the guy mentioned how he listened to the first nine or so while playing through the game. I went on a family vacation to Washington DC and I listened to all 15 of them.

I got hooked on Drunk Tank at about their 19th episode, which goes down as one of the best intro's and funniest moments for me at least. I've listened to each episode over 6 times now, and I still can't pick a favorite episode.

I was watching some Achievement Hunter videos and liked them, as well as the RT shorts, and i was getting back into RvB after an absence, so i decided i'd listen to an RT podcast if they had one too. Sure enough, they did and i listened to DT #34 (new at the time). It was funny right from the intro (the theme was the acoustic "Drunk tank" song that ended in "Geoff is a fag") and since then i have listened to the entire archive.

To be fair I'm not a huge Drunk Tank listener. I only started at the more recent ones, I think literally the one before the most recent. When I first heard the title I thought they would literally be completely drunk and the entire show would be a slur of them talking but I gave it a shot and I really wished I had listened sooner. It's just really awesome.

I think there have only been one or two episodes where they are actually drunk. Otherwise it's pretty much pure entertainment and hilarity from start to finish.

Has anyone here submitted a Theme Song?

I actually just started listening about a month ago as I basically just rediscovered RT after many years. I'm on my second run through the entire library. DT has officially replaced music selection while I'm on the job delivering Chinese.

I listened on and off from around the 30's and 40's maybe? I didn't discover it at the beginning though. But as of now, I've heard every one at least 3 times. Listening to it on commutes, bike rides to class, road trips, etc.

I started listening the moment Geoff boasted about the achievement race. I started to be the classy Drunk Tank forum shark around #15.

I started at number 49, where Jack recaps the events of X10. I had been a member of the site for a while, and every time I came here I'd always see the Drunk Tank logo and the little description, but never gave it a second thought. And then, one day (for reasons I don't remember), I decided to listen to the latest one, and instantly became a fan. I used to always get excited when Jack was on, because he wasn't as prominent in the company back when the beginning episodes were first released, but now I've gotten used to his silky, announcer-like voice.
So here's to Jack, for playing a more-than-average role in my first DT experience. Looking forward to another sports discussion.

I started late, around 91. But since them, I've listen to them often and seem to do my best work while listening to it.

And yeah, I got a glass at RTX. Now I have a little DT wherever I go.

I've never listened to Drunk Tank. I got into podcasts a few months ago and it wasn't on my radar. More recently I started listening to the Jenga and Roadblock offerings, as well as the TT.TKO, all produced by awesome people in the RT community. Perhaps it's time to give the official RT joint a chance.

I'm right there with you I listened to my first DT podcast like 3 months ago, and now I am slowly but surely working my way through all the past ones. And it's replaced my music on the way to work every morning as well, shits addictive.
