My very first Xbox 360 broke because it overheated. My second one's disc drive broke. My third one was a used Xbox 360, and when I tried to connect to Xbox Live, it turned out that the Xbox was banned.
For a few months, I was without an Xbox, and then when my sister moved in, she let my family use her's, but it just wasn't the same [since she took it with her whenever she went on long trips, which was about every week] For this Christmas, I got an Xbox 360 Slim, so I hope it lasts longer than my other Xbox 360s.
My first Xbox 360 got the RRoD, so I bought an Elite of a friend for only $200. I was thinking of buying the Slim, but I guess I should just wait for the Next Xbox.
I said it should have been an add for Xbox Live cause that would make more sense for a service to be advertised than a console. But it was cool calling out all the locations that they recorded at because I had been to them not a month before.
mmm dont know if this is the place for ths but i dropped my controller in water and i turned it on and it shut off now it doesnt work is it screwed if not help please
If water got inside, you probably shorted out the electrical components and may have damaged some of the ICs inside when you turned it on. Try it after it's dried, but don't get your hopes up.
Wireless controller with the nice Dpads, plug and play pack, good games, good internet, XBL 1 month trial so you can try it out, no kinect. If it's for anything more than novelty "oh look I have this nice videogame thing I'm hip" then get a hard drive, none of that 4gb model bullshit. That's really all you need.
Thanks! Yeah, not to be inflammatory, but that's what knocked the Wii off my list. Most of the games for motion control systems in the store looked like shovelware.
I have bought almost every single accessory for the 360 out there and have to say that the new wired ones suck and i prefer the older ones with the mute switch on the controller, the Wireless headsets are Amazing, the force feedback is the greatest steering wheel I've ever owned, that wireless racing wheel (that imitates the Wiimote) is fucking stupid, HDDVD player is a great DVD upconverter, never had any problems with the wireless adaptors, controllers just wear down over time and the hard drives are hard drives.
Netflix works just fine for me with a controller. As for Kinect to use voice commands for ME, you really should be able to do that using the XBL mic, but they locked it to the kinect mic. I understand the appeal of saying "oh, look at this cool thing the kinect allows you to do!" but it fails for me when you could have also done that with old tech and just limit it to the new in order to move more units.
I simply do not see the need to buy a $100 addon that will do very little for me that my controller won't do for me with little inconvenience.
I learned a very important lesson with my 360, the eject button is super sensitive, even to pajama pants, and a lot of times I'd be in a boss fight in various RPGs and I'd be so excited that I was about to win, stand up and walked close to my tv, and right as I beat them my pajama pants will brush against the eject button, and I had to do the battles all over again. The first time was kinda funny but also frustrating, but now when it happens I swear and then I close the disk tray and take a nap.
mine's lasted for 2 years
do you guys think, that the new Xbox rumors are true
could halo 4 be for the new Xbox and not for Xbox 360?
No. 343 said that it was a 360 title.

Clearly you don't use netflix or play Mass Effect 3
In reply to Dottoe, #3350:
If you're building from scratch, go for the 250 GB with kinect, the Nyko Zoom add on for the kinect if you're worried about space, the new silver controller with changeable d-pad, the messenger kit, and XBL. you get one month free with a new console.

My Mass Effect is in the mail.

Liar. That happened once
move the 360 away from yu then
Do it. Just take real good care of it and it will last for as long as you need.
Well..to put in comparison, does it last longer than an average gamecube? (considering you haven't touched the lens that reads games once)
