HELP! I'm having a 360 problem! This will be the one and only place to post if you have a problem with your system or Live. Don't post here unless you have a problem or a fix.
Im not sure how much it will be for your problem but this site fixed mine in about 2 weeks for $60 + a 'free' fan upgrade, as for memory you could just a buy a USB, that what my friend does.
Does it do it with all your games? If it does then it could be one of two things; dirty optical lens on the disc drive - to fix this purchase a DVD/CD reader cleaner (looks like a normal CD with a small brush stuck to the underside.) The other is just dust affecting cooling. To do fix this purchase a can of compressed air and blow into the air vents to dislodge dust. Of the two I reckon your problem is the former rather than the latter.
was this right after an update, and did you try restarting your xbox?
I did update Max Payne 3, could that have been a source? I did restart it and did the hard rest I'm assuming by hitting guide and RT+Y. It did fix itself , although I'm not sure what "fixed" it(Played Max Payne for an hour or so after restarting it a few times)
Beeping noise? That is interesting: I have never heard of an XBOX making a bleeping noise. Does it sound like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpqW3ZhxHGU
If so, it could be the optical drive in your XBOX dying (according to the video I linked you to.)
For some reason it seems my system is actually cracking the inner ring on my games(I noticed a large one on my Skyrim disk) and just yesterday one formed after a four hour horde session I found a crack forming on my Gears disk, the games still run fine but i've been panic installing as many disks as I can.
I believe that the disc drive in your 360 is applying excess pressure to your discs. I don't know how to physically fix it but you'll either need to replace the drive by sending it to Microsoft for repairs or replacing it yourself. Sadly the alternative is to replace the entire console. I'm sorry I can't be of any real help.
i know this may sound dumb but check to see if the security ring(inner silver ring) is messed up or doesnt show xbox 360 when its in the light. my mw2 was like that and i had to replace it
you could get yours repaired. disk drives go on the xboxes
How much would it cost to repair it? Because If its as much as a new xbox ill just get one

It does it all the time, like even in the dashboard

It could have just loaded that tab twice on accident due to it having to restart from the update, nothing to worry about.

A lot louder, sounds like a "dying" beep, and it only happens when I'm gaming, I now think it might be due to the Xbox overheating. thanks anyways.
Yes, I agree with you; if does sound like it is dying. I am sorry that I can't be of more help. Let me know what happens.
Confirmation is enough help, thanks.

it's an e74 error with your console and you need to contact microsoft that way they can send for your console to be repaired
Congrats! you just replied to a 3 year old post...
well i was trying to help because im new to these forums and didnt know it was 3 years old
I've opened it up and couldn't figure out a way to fix it.
Should I just go ahead and replace the laser or even the entire drive?
- if you can do it I'd replace the entire drive. Sorry I can't be of more help

It's not an individual disc problem, none of my games are being read.
