FEAR which is what I call this mechanic where if zombies get closer and closer your gun starts shaking so it is difficult to aim, when you reload you can drop the clip and have to pick it up or just leave the ammo behind, and finally if you are sprinting there is a possibility you can trip. These side effects would be worse depending on the size of the horde, if they came out of nowhere, if the zombies are stronger that normal, and if they block the only exit. I don't know just a thought I had that in my opinion would be really cool to see implemented in new horror games.
